Hi we just opened the vote for the "Throwable Hierarchy Policy for Extensions" policy RFC: RFC: https://wiki.php.net/rfc/extension_exceptions Discussion: https://externals.io/message/127206 PR: https://github.com/php/policies/pull/17 As with every RFC, a 2/3 majority is required. Voting ends 2025-05-27 at 12:30:00 UTC. --------------------- This policy RFC is the first new policy since the introduction of the php/policies repository and the comments on the PR indicated some confusion about the scope of the PR. Please familiarize yourself with the RFC introducing the policy repository: https://wiki.php.net/rfc/policy-repository and also the README in the policies repository: https://github.com/php/policies/?tab=readme-ov-file#policies Please also check out the “References” section in the RFC and the RFC discussion for further background context about the proposed policy. Best regards Tim Düsterhus

For some reason I thought the vote would have ended today instead of yesterday. Anyways: The RFC was accepted with 25 (Yes) to 1 (No) vote (96%), with one “Yes” vote arriving after the announced end date. Given this is a Policy RFC and we voted on an exact commit, the “implementation” is already ready. I'll ask the maintainers of the policy repository to squash merge the PR :-) Best regards Tim Düsterhus
